Entry tables come in many shapes, styles and finishes. Entry tables add fun and functionality to the entryway or foyer. They are perfect for displaying small items, such as picture frames, candles, or a lamp.
Are you looking to add a detailed touch to your entry? Then start with a unique entry table that you can easily create by yourself.
To make your own table, start by purchasing a ceramic planting urn from your local hardware store or garden center. The urn should be about 24-26 inches high and be around 12 inches in circumference at the top.
Pick a color that will either match your existing decor or find something a little different that will stick out a bit. If you can’t find the color you looking for the accent table to be then you can always paint it. Start by spray painting the urn and letting it dry then coming back to finish it with an acrylic paint in your desired color.
Finally place some sand inside the urn in order to help make it heavier to it can stabilize itself. Then take a round glass top about 4”-6” larger than the top circumference of the urn to use as a table top. Secure the glass top by placing rubber stoppers on the underside of the glass. If you don’t want to have a glass top then use a round wooden one. You can find them already made at a home improvement store. They are typically unfinished giving you the choice to either stain or paint them. Secure the wooden top the same as you would the glass.
This simple entry table will add a special uniqueness to the entryway in which it’s placed. It is an easy and low cost project to make and will be a fun piece to show off to your guests.
